Crepax & Zanon Italy CREPAX and ZANON Silvio Zanon After studying at the Venice Art Institute he began his career as a designer with some of the most important industries from the Murano island, first of all as Head of the Technical Department, then of product research and development and subsequently by opening a private practice as a designer specialised in the application of glass art for industrial products aimed at the furniture market. He presently runs his own glassworks where he designs and develops components for illumination and art objects. Paolo Crepax Just like all the Murano masters glassblowers he began his career in an oven since he was a child and gradually learnt his profession and tried to compete with and even exceed his "teachers". Often in contact with famous artists and designers, he was able to improve his formulation and creativity attributes that only those that work directly with the material manage to transform into art products. He is presently recognised as one of the most qualified and capable master glassblowers of Murano.

Nice design - short cord The online brochure said this unit had an overall hanging length of 96". We would have had to shorten slightly, but it wound up being more like 76" which has the light hanging way too high. It's a beautiful fixture, but very challenging to find the right temperature of bulb to keep it from appearing like a grarage bulb in the air. |
