Elegant contemporary light

Great design. Very contemporary. Well made. Excellent finish. Takes some time to remove all the set screws, install the diffusers, install the bulbs, then reinstall the set screws. It's not difficult, just takes time. Directions are very basic and only cover this part of the install, no suggestions or procedure for adjusting the length of the wires and leveling the light. It just takes more time and patience to adjust the length and level the light. There are two support cables and two electrical lines to adjust. This must be done prior to installation. I used a small level on the mounting canopy and a 4 foot level on the light frame while suspending the light in my hand by the canopy, leveled the canopy in two planes with steady hands, then adjusted the support cables one at a time to arrive at length and preliminary level for the light then adjusted the electrical wires to finalize the level in two planes. The challenge is getting the electrical wires taught enough so they look nice and tight like the support cables without throwing off the level. The plate which mounts to the ceiling box and attaches the canopy is a pain. This is a cam lock mount so knowing how to mount the adaptor plate so the light is aligned as you want it is important. There is no reference to align the canopy to the plate and the canopy is what holds the support cables so this is very important in determining the final light alignment. The cam lock is located at an odd angle that does not allow you to readily figure out where the final light position will be. I finally got it close then left the adaptor plate slightly loose so I could rotate the plate using the canopy to arrive at the desired location. Also the design of the adaptor plate will not allow you to mount the light square to a wall if the ceiling box is also square to the same wall and the ceiling box has the screws located at the smaller diameter (small box). Having that configuration results in the mounting plate having to being offset and thus will not allow the canopy to fully cover the ceiling box, so I still have some work to do. Best height for best look and light distribution is about 41 inches above the table. Great light and great look once you get it installed. The cables are provided in sufficient length that most will need to shorten them.
