D'Urbino, Donato and Paolo Lomazzi

Both notable designers of their own right, Donato D’Urbino and Paulo Lomazzi have collaborated on numerous pieces. Together, they have won design awards from around the world, including the Fiat Selection for Italian Design (1978), the Compasso d’Oro (1979), and the Prize bio 9 Ljubljana (1981). Their work is permanent display at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.

D’Urbino and Lomazzi also collaborated extensively with designer Jonathan de Pas. The trio founded Studio de Pas, D'Urbino Lomazzi in 1966 and became notorious for their witty and unconventional work. Known for their flexible, modular concepts, the three friends created pieces that bridged the gap between design and art, like the Joe Baseball Glove. De Pas passed away in 1991.
