Born in Florence in 1938, Branzi is an architect, designer, and critic of design for magazines such as Domus, Interni, Casabella and Modo. He was one of the founders of the Domus Academy and is one of the members of the EEC Commission for the promotion of the European design. With that said, he is a large proponent of the expansion of the European design, incorporating its tenants into all of his works – from commissioned construction projects to consumer products.
