It was when Michiel van der Kley (1962) became acquainted with the design of the nineteen-twenties (during his study of history) that he decided to become a designer himself. He has been working for manufacturers at home and abroad since 1987, including Artifort. Van der Kley produces designs with a great eye for detail, from which he believes that the object derives its individuality.
Could a chair be as streamlined as the body of an aero plane? Or as smoothly rounded as a stone that has been washed for eons by the sea? The answer is yes and the proof is Conco. Conco is aerodynamic and soft to the touch. The base strengthens the lightness of the design. The knot is an aesthetic feature but also a technical detail. It's literally a knotting together of all the curved lines that also serves to hold the fabric in place.Features:
