It was when Michiel van der Kley (1962) became acquainted with the design of the nineteen-twenties (during his study of history) that he decided to become a designer himself. He has been working for manufacturers at home and abroad since 1987, including Artifort. Van der Kley produces designs with a great eye for detail, from which he believes that the object derives its individuality.
The Bird sofa, an organic form fitting in the Artifort tradition. With its monolithic form, it looks like the back of this sofa flows out of the seat. The more you walk around the sofa, the more faces you see, as it appears to take on different forms. The Bird Sofa is available in many fabric and upholstery options for optimal comfort and will look fantastic in any environment.
