Giovanni Alessi Anghini was born in Milan and spent his early years as a student in German-speaking Switzerland, often travelling to the UK and the US. Having studied Anthropology and Sociology at Florence University, he moved to Milan to study Industrial Design at the European Design Institute. Here, he worked for two years as a designer in Stefano Giovannoni's studio. Recently, he showed Alessi his design for the "Pop-Up" Bottle Cap Remover bottle opener which features a pressure opening mechanism. Enthralled by his ingenious idea, Alessi was happy to develop and put the bottle opener into production.
This new family of objects is part of an ongoing collaboration with the national palace museum in Taiwan and Stefano Giovannoni. This collection interpretation is keeping with the playful style of which our designer is an acknowledged master.
