Born in Bergamo, Italy, Laura Polinoro graduated in Drama Art and Music Studies in Bologna. Her first job was in the field of contemporary dance as art director and costume and set designer. Later she undertook research at the Domus Academy in Milan. From 1990 to 1998 she was in charge of the Centro Studi Alessi, where she operated as meta-project designer and art director, coordinating workshops both in-house and in association with various universities and design institutes the world over. She was also involved in publishing and communications activities. Items which entered production in that period are identified with the acronym ôCSAö. Since 2004 products overseen by Ms. Polinoro have been identified with the letters "LPWK"

Massimo Giacon Italy (1961 - )

Born in Padua, Italy, in 1961, this comic-strip artist and illustrator is a leading light in the renewal of Italian comic, dividing his time as a graphic artist, designer, musician and artist. More recently, he has come to light as a promising consumer product designer, implementing his interesting, youthful and pop culture iconic artistry to his commissioned mass produced products for notable manufacturers. Each piece incorporates his revitalized Italian comic inspirations for a more fun, imaginative and artistic twist to everyday consumer products.

Set of two figurines in porcelain. Hand-decorated. Alessi’s Presepe (nativity scene), decorative object by now has become a classic of the genre. Now a yearly tradition, the collection of Figurines for the Presepe continues to be enriched with new characters: “Trotto & Ernesto”, the blacksmith with his horse.
