He remembers having spent his childhood under his father's drawing tables, passing hours stitching, cutting, gluing and grinding, disassembling bicycles, motorbikes and other objects. Endless hours, an entire life spent dismantling and reassembling anything that fell into his hands, reconstructing his surrounding world. He continues to shake the traditions and culture of the world's major cities, with the interior design of the restaurant at Hong Kong's Peninsula Hotel (1994), the Teatron in Mexico (1995), the Delano Hotel a Miami (1995), the Modrian in Los Angeles (1996), the Asia de Cuba restaurant in New York (1997), as well as an entire series of ongoing projects in London and elsewhere. His skill lies in being able to transform instantly the object of the commission into a place filled with charm, pleasure and encounters. He tirelessly modifies everyday life, exalting the deepest roots of existence in his changes. His increasing fascination with life has now led him to create clothes, underwear, footwear, glasses, food, and always with the conviction that his design respects nature and the future of humankind. In the exhibits of museums all around the world, in Paris, New York, Munich, London, Chicago, Kyoto and Barcelona, his work is considered to be that of a master. He has received numerous prizes and awards: designer of the year, the Oscar de luminaire (1980), the title of Officier des Artes et des Lettres (1985), Compasso d'Oro ADI (2001), Show Boats in Munich (2003), and many others.

It's my first designer fly swatter. And this one is cool. It actually sits vertical on three prongs. The flies hate it... I love it!

Get compliments on it all the time - where did you get that? It's just cool.

Only a great designer like Starck could make something so utilitarian stand out as an art object. It elicits a smile from my visitors... really a unique item!

These fly swatters are real conversation pieces, I own four altogether, I 've had the first two for a few years & needed to replace one! I ordered the grey one not knowing the blue one was being sent (I thought it was out of stock), I didn't mind though, now I can have one in all the rooms I frequent, they're almost like little sculptures!

This is the best, most whimsical flyswatter ever. It's sturdy, but best of all is the face in the swatter pad. Looks wonderful in the window. Wondering if swatted flies will look like acne on the face?! Tremendous product. I bought 2 and will buy more!

Dr Skud is Art, not a fly-killing tool

This is an interesting thing. It's a flyswatter with the image of a face made with the mesh of the striking surface. I keep it on the windowsill of the kitchen and it makes people laugh. That's its function. Because if you use it to kill a fly, it will break.
Fun and functional

We have used these fly swatters at our lake cottage for years. They are well worth the few extra dollars compared to run of the mill fly swatters. Guests are always amused by them, and the legs make them easy to store on our window sills, where they are like art objects. They're easy to clean with soap and water. I'm always looking for ordinary household objects and tools in which function and appealing design have been combined; these fly swatters fully satisfy in both respects.
great product, great price!

Always wanted one of these. Bought one from All Modern for a great price. The flyswat works really well. Alessi products are often more style than substance but this not only looks fun but it works well too. No fly is safe in the house and no need for noxious chemical sprays!
