About the Designer Luigi Caccia Dominioni Italy (1913 - )
Born in Milan in 1913, Dominioni graduated in architecture from the Polytechnic of Milan in 1936 and in the same year he started his activity in Venice together with Livio and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, with whom he won the competition held at the Vimercate School. In the field of Industrial design he was considered a "pioneer,ö and eventually set up a collection of his signature furniture and objects. The "Caccia" cutlery he designed for Alessi are on permanent display at the Museum of Modern Art of New York as an example of fine functional design. The "Caccia" Flatware Collection was originally crafted in 1938 in silver. It has been in reproduction since 1990 from polished 18/10 stainless steel for durability and elegance.
