I am very happy with this chair with a few caveats. The chair is surprisingly well made, however without a cushion or seat the rattan is exposed and has the potential for being damaged. While this is true there is an underwebbing net system that should help the extend the life of the rattan weave for the seat. I plan to buy cushions to protect the seats and the weave however it's going to be difficult to fit the uncommon size of seat, depth, and back and I will likely need to get them custom made. The chair is absolutely gorgeous. If you have a room for these to be decorative pieces they will fare well. I cannot speak to the longevity however I would say they should not be an everyday sitting chair where the decorative piece and accent to a living room. The only reason I gave them a four star versus a five it's because I have not truly tested it to its full power however by infrequently sitting on them, I can tell that the weave is not as durable as I would wish for everyday furniture.. It doesn’t look it, but is astonishingly comfortable. You’re not at risk of napping in this chair, but the leather is reasonably soft - and when guests are on the sofa, this is an awesome perch from which to “hold court”. It’s of much higher quality than a typical accent chair, but not really part of the comfy, deep, supple leathered, living room set. I feel like it’s not categorized correctly as an accent chair since now, and perhaps strangely, I consider the chair an indispensable fixture of my living space! It does require some assembly, but took me just fifteen minutes to put together. It’s worth mentioning that I tried to order the exact same chair from Amazon and they were unable to deliver the item... it was “damaged or lost” by the carrier. Good news for me, since AllModern delivered it within five days, at $100 less than my failed Amazon order. Bottom line: You might think, “maybe don’t need this chair”... but actually, you really, really need, exactly this chair!
