The table looks very white online but there is a warmer hue to it. I paid for the assembly which was definitely worth it because this table is very heavy. The guys that delivered it scratched it a bit because it was heavy but luckily it was under the table. I am more careful with what I place on it but when it gets a lot of scratches I think I can always paint over it. Also, 8 would be a tight fit. I think this is more of a 6 person table.
