The swivel is not too "loose" which means that the seat stays put when you're getting in and out. The seat swivels with just the right amount of effort and the base does not extend past the seat when turned, so no uncomfortable pokes to the legs. I appreciated the next-day delivery for both ottomans that I ordered. -1 star: The tray-top lid is VERY hard to remove; I had to use the back-end of a spoon to pry the lid off. The tray itself looked great, though! I also think that the original $199 price is too expensive for what you get. I ended up returning both ottomans because the color of the green upholstery was just too blue-toned to go with my space -- no one's fault, just the luck of the draw! The return cost was about 1/7 the total cost of the ottomans.
