There is a tradeoff between style and stability. You won't be able to sit on this table without it tipping all the way over. Obviously, there's no reason to sit on a table; just setting expectations. Otherwise it's absolutely stable enough for dining and such. The markings on the surface are obviously intentional and meant to evoke an industrial feel. There is a blotchy shine or lamination on the surface that I'm not sure if it should be scrubbed off or ignored (it's not painfully obvious). I like how different this table is aesthetically and although it looks modern you can change the style based on what chairs and decor you do. The table looks very white online but there is a warmer hue to it. I paid for the assembly which was definitely worth it because this table is very heavy. The guys that delivered it scratched it a bit because it was heavy but luckily it was under the table. I am more careful with what I place on it but when it gets a lot of scratches I think I can always paint over it. Also, 8 would be a tight fit. I think this is more of a 6 person table.
