I generally do like this, though I purchased it on sale and it's definitely not worth the full price. The photos are somewhat misleading so I wanted to share my own. The drawers are set back further than how it looks in the photo, and there is a black bar where the door slides across. It looks unfinished to me. That black bar was clearly photoshopped out in the All Modern photos, which is really disingenuous. I might try to paint that part to match the wood, but in the meantime I like this piece much better if I just open the drawers slightly so that they align with the sliding door (as seen in my last picture). We got this to go with our mid-century inspired living room. I was a little skeptical how well something like this would match our custom real walnut coffee table in terms of quality however, the end result is very striking. The material is MDF with walnut-style veneer. The MDF is very dense and heavy, and seems good quality. Similarly, the veneer is very good quality. Having assembled a lot of flat-packed furniture in my time, I was surprised at how precise everything was cut and how it lined up, including the mitered corners. The quality of the included hardware (hingers, clickable drawer slides) was also very good. The cabinet hinges are adjustable to ensure the large door lines up flushlevel like it should. The drawer hardware also has leveling mechanisms build into the slides. The only exception to this was one of the metal drawer slides didnt retract as much as the others, resulting in the front face not looking perfectly flush (which is very noticeable on a clean-line piece like this). I was able to fix this by drilling a couple 14 offset screw holes for that drawer slide in the MDF, and it all lines up like it should now. Also of note is that the smaller shelves and cabinet area do not have holes cut for cords, so we had to drill our own. Overall, a very nice piece of modern furniture.. Brook. Can’t say enough about how much I love this sideboard! I’m always nervous having large furniture delivered, but this piece showed up quickly and without a single scratch or dent. It was packaged and wrapped so well! Putting it together was a breeze and it took maybe 10 minutes to get the legs on (probably took us longer to get it out of the box than to actually assemble the legs) so no need to pay the extra money to have someone else put it together for you. The overall craftsmanship of this piece is pristine - the legs, brass cross bar, and brass handles are all amazing mid century modern details. There is also plentyyyy of storage as you can see in my photos. I love that the shelves are adjustable and on one side cabinet we didn’t use the shelf at all because our alcohol bottles are too tall. Consul looks great overall. I was looking for a solid wood piece, and this mostly checks the boxes. The outwardly visible panels are high quality veneer walnut. I was a little disappointed that the bottom panel is vinyl veneer and rear panel is a very thin wood look piece with cut outs for the wires. Also, the silver bolts connecting the black metal frame to the bottom panel are visible. I could do without this contrast (maybe will paint them black at a later point).. Bryan.
