Looks better than the picture. Good construction and clean lines. from Middletown, NY on 01/27/2015 – Verified Buyer
I live in a mid-century modern 1957 contemporary home (designed by a student of Frank Lloyd Wright) and have been in the process of updating the décor for the last few years (on a budget). After a 6-month search, I finally found this buffet and bought it (despite concerns about difficult assembly). My husband and our 2 college-aged kids were able to put it together in less than 2 hours, (and only had a slight problem with one of the drawers which was easily corrected). The instructions are not very clear and consist of diagrams, and screws and connectors are drawn but not labeled. However, we were able to figure out what was what once all of the small pieces were laid out and counted . I was pleasantly surprised with the finished product. There is a wood-grain finish (which is not appreciable in the pictures) and the structure is very heavy and sturdy. The drawers move smoothly and close softly, and the doors are well-aligned. I placed it in my dining room. I use the top for a hot beverage station with Keurig coffee-maker, tea assortment and condiments, and installed a black shelf above for coffee cups. Below accommodates all of my linens and large serving dishes. This piece really exceeds anything else that I have purchased before (and at half the price). Compliments keep flowing. I would recommend this for anyone who needs extra storage on a budget. Now I just need a mini-frig.

Looks nice but what a pain in the a^^ to assemble from Chattanooga, TN on 03/17/2015 – Verified Buyer
It includes a wine rack inside the cabinet that I didn't see in the description. I didn't put it in because i need the space of other things. The box it ships in is long and HEAVY (over 70 pounds). I had it delivered to the apartment complex leasing office. When I went to pick it up, I couldn't even move the box myself. I had to borrow one of the guys from work (and his pick up truck) to help. As for assembly, well, two people, seven hours (over two days) and a lot of swearing and it is at least together, not quite right, but it will do until I decide to fight with it again. I read the reviews but I didn't think it would be this bad. Pieces were mismarked. If you followed the written instructions (brief as they were) they didn't match the pictures. Holes didn't line up as the instructions led you to believe they would. We did a lot of "I think this is right" guessing. I couldn't get the back (glorified cardboard) to stay in the grooves when putting the bottom on, so right now it is backless. I think I'm just going to hold it in place with thumb tacks. I'm not going to disassemble it and try again. The biggest problem was the doors. The two outside doors went on quickly. The other two were quite a bit harder, maybe because you have the other door already on. The doors on the right hand side of each pair slope down so the inside corner is about a quarter inch lower then the other door. Adjusting the height following the instructions is did nothing. I tried, but it only created more fit issues and using the other screws the instructions indicated didn't help, so I just got them to close properly and called it "good enough." Oh and when all was said and done and I had the piece where I wanted it, the drawers would slide open. To get the drawers to stay closed, I had to move the unit a couple inches further away from the wall. Guess the floors aren't level. I've put a lot of furniture together in my life, but this was the hardest, most complicated I've eve dealt with.

Beautiful But A Challenge! from Los Angeles, CA on 09/07/2013 – Verified Buyer
I've assembled quite a few of the Hokku Designs furniture pieces, but this definitely takes the cake for difficulty. I have a background in construction and this took a lot longer to put together due to the incorrect directions. One word of advice: Be careful when putting in the wooden pegs! There's one piece that is longer than the rest and needs to be placed in the center of an adjoining piece. Instructions were unclear, so we ended up accidentally jabbing the darn thing too hard, leaving a slight bump on the countertop surface. Had to redo that part. Also, the pilot holes in the drawers don't line up to the tracks, so I had to drill some myself in the proper spots to screw them secure. Other than that, it's a wonderfully beautiful addition to our bar area! We've gotten several compliments on the piece already!

Great Product, Perfect size from Hooksett, NH on 12/02/2014 – Verified Buyer
I was looking for a buffet/sidebar to use as a bar in my living room for a while and none of them fit the look and feel of the room. This is just what I was looking for, minimalist, good size, holds plenty of 'stuff' and was pretty easy to put together. Pros: Easy to put together, Great looks, drawers/doors work well Cons: Have to be careful with the finish, and I wish the legs were matte not chrome.

Looks great from Seattle, WA on 11/25/2014 – Verified Buyer
The buffet looks great and has been pretty sturdy. The cabinet drawers are flexible to fit your storage needs. And the storage space is pretty deep so you can fit most kitchen items. The only item I could fit was a wide set of circular serving trays. The biggest con is the instructions. It is not always clear what piece you are suppose to use. I found it a little harder than ikea instructions, but with 5 times as many pieces. Besides that, totally happy.
