About the Manufacturer

In the early 1950s, during Modernism's mid-century design movement, Nambé’s first timeless pieces were handcrafted in a small village north of Santa Fe called Nambé. It was then that Nambé's passion for exceptional design had begun. Their inspiration: the discovery of the proprietary alloy. Over the years, this vested passion has become their philosophy. Every piece Nambé crafts must have an undeniable beauty, artistic integrity, uncompromising quality, and function beyond compare. This is how they recognize all things that have come to be known as Nambé. Today, Nambé transcends trends and generations. They enhance lives through designs that connect emotionally, quality that inspires, and a brand that shares in the lifestyle aspirations of their customer. Nambé's world-class designers specify signature alloy, stainless steel, fine porcelain, and full-lead crystal, always with the intent to honor their core values and remain true to their philosophy. Recognized for its award-winning designs for more than 60 years, Nambé’s commitment to timeless beauty, artistic integrity and uncompromising quality is evident in the brand’s collection of serveware, barware, home décor and gift items. Nambé collaborates with the world’s most esteemed designers to develop products that bring function and style into the home. From The British Museum in London to the Museum of Modern Art in New York, Nambé pieces are exhibited in renowned galleries around the world.

Worth the wait

from Weehawken, NJ on 10/15/2014 – Verified Buyer

Waited for this back ordered tea kettle. Just installed a mirrored mosaic backsplash and this modern classic completed the look. Love the wood handle against the silver metal.
If you have a small space or just particular about every object Visible in your home.... You'll be thrilled with this piece

Great style with polished chrome and wood . High quality as felt in the weight of the kettle . Very loud whistle when at boiling point . I did not realize that the kettle top while appearing to be designed to come off for easy filling does in fact not come off and kettle must be filled through the pour spout , which isn't a big deal , just not expected , guess its a case of design winning out over function . Even so , I am happy with the purchase and the price paid .k

This is a pretty tea kettle. And that is where the good part ends.
It took over two months to arrive. The lid can not be removed so it must be filled through the spout. And the instructions say to heat the water over medium heat. This is a tea kettle in which water is to be boiled. Even using medium high heat it takes forever to boil, and then it says it needs to be room temperature before adding more water. So if I want a second cup of tea, I have to wait for it to get to room temperature? All in all, the only thing it has going for it is that it is pretty.

Beautiful but requires maintenance

from NY, NY on 02/10/2015 – Verified Buyer

The whistle sounds like the symphony orchestra tuning their violins - really. Plus it is beautiful. The down side is you have to fill it via the spout and it gets water stains pretty easily. Nonetheless, it gets the job done and looks great doing so,

Love the style, but the quality isn't as expected. Still a good tea pot, just expected more for the money. Perhaps the value will become more evident over time.
