About the Manufacturer

Missoni is a complete project for furnishing the home. A huge range of elements, from fabrics – the starting point – to furnishings. From the connecting thread of fabrics and their endless variations unfold these beautiful products for furnishing the inside and outside of the home from the living room to the lounge room, from the bedroom and bathroom to rooms overlooking gardens and terraces. The collection designed by Rosita Missoni stands out for its sunny personality and creative spirit, in which a sense of warmth is interwoven with manufacturing skill. The inspirations and emotions of fashion color her ideas of home design. Translating these multifaceted ideas into fabric and furnishing solutions is made possible by the almost symbiotic collaboration between two leading Italian companies: Missoni, among Italy’s top fashion designers, and T&J Vestor, a firm that boasts a long family tradition in home fabrics and furnishings. The language of the collection, as well as each individual piece, is unmistakable, with the project built around free interactions between colors and forms. Materials and patterns become part of the whole, but at the same time have a life of their own and easily move into other contexts. Precise signs and designs that fuse memories and project visions. Scattered areas of black and white and open trails of color. Geometrical shapes and lines between exuberant motifs, such as huge flowers, the essential botanical refrain of every collection. This long creative path coexists with experimentation – almost an escape from the obvious towards an innovative, personal style with an aesthetic balance that’s above and beyond the commonplace. In the company’s almost 90 year existence, there have been numerous changes and restructuring processes at different times. While the 1970s saw the company first make a name for itself outside Italy, the ’80s were marked by major work to introduce a new concept of quality. The addition in 1983 of the Missoni Home line to its products was a major step in its strategy for change. The attraction of Missoni, a well-known fashion label, was a “family affair,” with Rosita Missoni, Née Jelmini, sister to Alberto and Giampiero, who manage the business with their cousins, the Torranis. The success of the Missoni Home collection is growing. In recent years it has not only taken on remarkable dimensions but also established a strong international profile. Today it offers a kaleidoscopic mosaic of fabrics and ideas for the home, designed by Rosita Missoni.
