Katkabin Outdoor Cat Shelter from Suisun City, CA on 12/13/2010 – Verified Buyer
I bought this shelter for a FeLV and FIV positive stray cat in my neighborhood, who I feed and take care of, because I couldn't bring him indoors without exposing my own cats to his illnesses. He only used the shelter when it rained, which was why I purchased it to begin with. This shelter has several good points: 1) Lightweight. 2) No assembly required. 3) Easily cleaned. 4) Not as expensive as some wooden cat shelters. On the other hand, there are several drawbacks to this type of shelter, especially for use with completely outdoor cats: 1) No windbreak, unless used with the door, which none of my outdoor cats liked. 2) Does not come with insulation, so this shelter isn't good for very cold weather conditions, unless you purchase the additional winter warmer. 3) The pad that comes with the shelter will get dirty and wet very easily, so it isn't suitable for use with true feral cats, even though it is washable. 4) The door hangs up sometimes if you use straw for bedding material, like I did, because straw still insulates when it is wet, unlike fabric or foam insulation. In summary, if you want a lightweight, simple shelter for occasional use by a single cat, this shelter will suffice. If you want to provide a cold weather shelter for a feral cat, you would be better off checking the Internet for several inexpensive, do-it-yourself ideas for shelters.

feral cats love it from VA on 03/18/2014
My feral cat is very suspicious of anything I set outside but wonderfully settled into this house after a couple of days. Initially I bought this - http:superblog.cothe-kitty-tube-outdoor-cat-house-review - but he never really used it so that was a waste of money. I tried enticing it with cat nip but he only stays inside for about a minute or so at a time before heading back out. Now that I think about it, it's because this kitty house has a second door whereas the other one does not which gives him a trapped feeling. I'm really happy with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone! It's big enough to even double as a dog house.

Love this Unique-looking Cat House! from Springfield, MO on 10/23/2014 – Verified Buyer
We have two dogs, two cats, and now a stray cat! My husband put a cardboard box on our front porch with a blanket, and the cat stuck around (we were feeding him, too:) At first, he only hissed and wouldn't let us come close to him...now, he meows and won't let us stop petting him! We thought about building a house for him, but found this one online and let me tell you, Scar is livin' the dream!!! He's a pretty big cat and looks a little squished inside of it, but he uses it all the time and obviously LOVES it! I highly recommend this cat house to any and all cat owners!

Cold weather friend from Mason, TN on 12/02/2014 – Verified Buyer
My outside cats love this house. They take turns between it and another one we have. I have it one the porch and the grey cat sits and watches the world go by. Pros: No putting it together, it is a complete unit when you take it out of the box. Cons: None that I can think of

Hope They Love It! from Creedmoor, NC on 01/21/2015 – Verified Buyer
The house arrived as pictured except with no door. Those had to be ordered separately. The outdoor cats have walked through it, so hopefully they will get use to it and use it. Once they do, I'll add one door at a time.

A joy to behold from North Myrtle Beach, SC on 10/01/2011 – Verified Buyer
For a few weeks, my cat Sparky acted as if the forest green KatKabin Outdoor Cat House (which is on the front porch) did not exist. But this morning I opened the front door at 4 a.m. and to my delight I saw a bit of fur sticking out of the little house. I'm so glad she will be sleeping there as the weather gets cooler. The only thing I am not krazy about is the foam pad inside the kabin. After I took it out to examine it, I had a hard time re-placing it neatly inside, it just kept poking out. The cover on it does not fit well. But it doesn't matter, because I put a soft towel on top of it that Sparky likes better.

Great find! from Lake Peekskill, NY on 11/02/2014 – Verified Buyer
We bought this for the stray kitty who likes to hang around our house and is a little bit shy to come in in our lovely home. We were really worried she might be cold during the fall and winter, and we bought this lovely house to keep her warm. She loves it! If she's not eating outside she is always there sleeping or just hanging out. We are really happy with it!

Not Strong enough for large cats. from NC on 10/04/2015 – Verified Buyer
I operate a not-for-profit cat rescue and shelter in western NC. In July of 2014 we purchased a number of cat houses, I think these were the indoor model. At any rate, one by one these have weakened and cracked, most have been rendered "useless" and discarded. Staff didn't report this to me until I was doing out IRS report and questioned what I had spent this amount to purchase. At 80 years of age, you don't recall things far in the past. I know it is late to complain buy worth the try. The State made us replace wood nests saying they could not be cleaned, so we tried your plastic ones Is there anything you can do for us. You might like to talk with my shelter employee Kaleb. He can tell you more. Call 828 293 0892 Between 9AM and 5 PM EST. Thank you. Harold Pros: Very handy and easy to clean with spray cleaners and water. Cons: Houses did not hold up to the riggers of cats.

Perfect for a cat who has "adopted" us and is not always comfortable being in the house. It seems nice and toasty even during our cold, northeast winter nights. Pros: easy to set up and very portable

KatKabin by Brinsea from Washington, DC on 12/11/2013 – Verified Buyer
My original plan to purchase this product for one the feral cats that I am feeding. But my own cat loves the katKabin so much, he moved himself into the KatKabin right away. I guess, I will probably have to order another one for the outdoor cat. I will give it a 5-star rating.
