Love this light fixture! As stated in previous reviews, the lampshade does appear to be white and brighter in these photos, but it is more oatmeal and has off-white flecks in the linen lampshade material. But knowing that, I was interested, and it did not disappoint. One thing to note: the seam on the lampshade is pretty noticeable when the light is on, so if you don't have a wall that "hides" the seam, it could be distracting and annoying to some. This chandelier has a metal backplate with eight fabric cords that hang from it. Each of those cords can be attached to the ceiling with a swag light hook, so you can easily adjust how long they hang. A fixture for a 60W bulb hangs at the end for each cord.
