|Fathers with young children in the mid 80's, brothers-in-law Jan and Jens spoke about how tricky it was to transport their high chairs in traditional cars.
How could they create a better seat for their kids that was easy to carry about on outings without compromising safety. Along with Jens' father, Johan Pisarski, they drew up some sketches for a portable high chair which joiner-trained Jan Simonsen produced the first prototype of in 1987. Building them in Jan's garage, it was soon tested and approved by TÜV.
By 1995, after several years of design refinements and growing domestic sales, the three men expanded outside of Denmark. The HandySitt compact high chair is now sold in over 25 countries.
In 2006, the HandySitt range of high chairs and accessories was expanded to include a unique children’s lamp that displays a child’s creative development.
Now, the company is known as ®minui as and is owned by Hardy Mogensen. Launching new products that make everyday life easier for parents and grandparents with children and grandchildren under 6 is clearly within our sights.
