About the Designer
Sweden (1972 - )
Matti Klenell was born in Gothenburg in 1972. He works and lives in Stockholm. He studied at The College of Arts, Crafts and Design, Stockholm 1994-1999 and Architect school, Copenhagen 1997. After school, Matti and some of his colleagues established the architect's office Our. Mainly working with product design, Matti Klenell has got a number of awards, among them the Ljunggrenska design award in 2003, and he has also taken part in exhibitions both in Sweden and abroad. Besides the architect company, Matti is also involved in teaching at Beckmans School of Design.
Lempi is a new universal drinking glass designed by Matti Klennel for Iittala. It is designed for the modern kitchen, which often has limited storage space. This stackable glass not only saves space, but also looks great on an open shelf and the round shape invites you to take hold of it. Lempi glass works for every occasion, whether you pour in a refreshing glass of juice or a relaxing glass of red wine.
