Comments about ducduc Austin Bunk Bed:
I may be the only $UCKER who actually bought this $$$ bunk. I loved the sleek modern design and extra storage...and eagerly waited[...] for it to arrive. It indeed looks lovely and has lots of storage. Installers did a great job despite this being the first ducduc bunk they had assembled. The ladder 'design' is TERRIBLE. Slippery narrow diameter round spindles hurt feet and needed hideous rubber stickers to make them safer...the stickers peeled off. Ladder is very tall-no cutout for ladder on upper bunk, so you must climb up and over siderails to get into bed. If ladder is attached to bed, there is no access to under bed drawers/trundle, so we left it loose. The shelves have DANGEROUS sharp corners. My husband hit his head on a corner and got a deep scalp LACERATION requiring stitches. (I sanded the corners myself after that). Paint has completely peeled off on upper bunk where the loose ladder rubs against the siderails.
