Southern California native Don Chadwick has possessed a lifelong interest in furniture, first learning under the tutelage of his grandfather, a cabinetmaker. Chadwick studied design at UCLA, and worked for architect Victor Gruen before establishing his own practice in 1964. For decades, he has pioneered the use of modern materials and processes to create cutting-edge products that have raised the standard for their market. He has collaborated with Knoll and Herman Miller to produce iconic pieces, and has received many awards over the course of his career.
