Born in Paris in 1949, Starck is considered one of the most original and creative designers of our time. He has obtained many important acknowledgements, such as the Grand Prix National de la Création industrielle and the Honor Award of the American Institute of Architects. Crossing many design borders and boundaries, Starck best describes himself as "a Japanese architect, an American art director, a German industrial designer, a French artistic director, and an Italian furniture designer". It is through all of these inspirations that he builds each of his designs for functional, yet aesthetically effective, household products. We have used these fly swatters at our lake cottage for years. They are well worth the few extra dollars compared to run of the mill fly swatters. Guests are always amused by them, and the legs make them easy to store on our window sills, where they are like art objects. They're easy to clean with soap and water. I'm always looking for ordinary household objects and tools in which function and appealing design have been combined; these fly swatters fully satisfy in both respects.

Always wanted one of these. Bought one from All Modern for a great price. The flyswat works really well. Alessi products are often more style than substance but this not only looks fun but it works well too. No fly is safe in the house and no need for noxious chemical sprays!
