Classically trained sculptor and architect Eero Saarinen had an eye for form and design. He also had a knack for combining unconventional materials—plywood and foam rubber for instance— to create beautifully organic pieces of furniture. His collaboration in 1937 with famed designer Charles Eames lead to the innovative Organic Armchair, the first three-dimensionally-shaped bucket armchair. Saarinen continued on with this theme in the years to come, creating such masterpieces as the popular Knoll Womb and Tulip Chairs. Appealing to all tastes and styles, Saarinen's designs are classic in every sense of the word.
