Describing himself as "a Japanese architect, an American art director, a German industrial designer, a French artistic director, and an Italian furniture designer," Starck has created a group of kitchen essentials through each of these inspirations, enabling him to effectively perfect designs for functional, yet aesthetically pleasing, household products. Included in this collection is Alessi’s Juicy Salif, as designed by Philippe Starck, which has become an icon of modern design since its conception 10 years ago. It now stands in the MOMA in New York, as one of the elite historical greats of contemporary design.
