The idea for Balanced Design a line of handmade pillows, rugs and hand printed fabrics made with eco-friendly materials was formed as graphic designer Melinda Cox walked the streets of Paris two weeks after 9/11. At that time, in that city, people lived a more environmentally sensitive existence than most of the people that she knew back home. Melinda returned to the United States and founded Balanced Design in 2002. All of her line features great color, shape and form, and are balanced with a simple goal: to reduce, reuse or recycle. The "happy" and "whimsical" designs are created in the Providence studio, hand printed in an old mill in Rhode Island, and manufactured in Fall Rver, Massachusetts. All of the line is made in the USA.
