Sharpest Knife In The Drawer

 from Dartmouth, NS– Verified Buyer

This is one of my best everyday kitchen knives. It doesn't have the fancy (but slippery) Cutco handle, rather a non-slip grip that is both comfortable and secure. Best of all is its razor sharpness, glides through fruit, veggies, and meat effortlessly. Once it loses its edge I'll restore it with a 10008000 wet stone, but not even close to that point yet. This is a must-have knife, especially at this price. I look after it by washing it by hand and not keeping it in the drawer !

Great knife for your money

from San Mateo, CA– Verified Buyer

I was so tempted to get a Shun knife but for around 30, this Victorinox Chefs knife is so sharp and handles all my cutting, dicing, slicing, crushing very well. It even outperforms my Lamson Sharp meat cleaver when handling tough jobs (not including hacking bones). When compared to Fibrox, the Lamson was duller, heavier, and more clumsy to work with...it was hard cutting through hard stuff because its dull unlike Fibrox. I also have the Victorinox Santoku and that performs equally well. I have had nothing but good experience with Victorinox.

Great Knife

 from Deckerville, MI– Verified Buyer

This is a quality knife, but not expect anything less from Victorinox. I have used knife for produce and meat. Works well for both.

Great chef knife

 from Oakland Ca– Verified Buyer

America's test kitchen was right. You will not find a knife of better performance despite what you pay.
The handle itself is so much better than the slick ones you usually encounter. No sliding around because your hand is sticky

Manufacturer Details
Victorinox was founded at a time when Switzerland was counted among the poorest countries in Europe. Many Swiss were without work in 1880 and saw emigration as the only possible solution. Despite the difficult economic times, the cutler Karl Elsener took the initiative and, by opening a cutlery workshop, laid the foundation stone for a thriving company.

A pioneering spirit and the honesty of the company founder, as well as his attachment to his native country, have accompanied the history of the Victorinox Company during the last 125 years, and live on in his philosophy and his products. The organization is also characterized by continuity: Victorinox has remained a family enterprise since its founding in 1884, and has maintained its independence until today. 10 percent of the shares are held by the Elsener family, and 90 percent are owned by the Victorinox Foundation. This model ensures the continuation of the company and offers assurance that jobs can be maintained over the long term.
