This is a nice solution for those who have hardwood floors and are looking to cover a fairly large area so that their babies can sit comfortably. What I like about the product is that it's soft and covers a generous area of my family room floor. Every time my baby rolled while learning to sit on it unsupported, he never hurt himself. What I don't like about it is the fact that it scratches and scoffs very easily. My baby leaves permanent scratches on it with his tiny fingernails, not to mention other objects that can do a lot more damage to it. I'm not sure if it's just the nature of the material or it has more to do with the quality of this product. I don't mind it so much because I don't expect to use this foam mat for too long, but if it had been a long-term use investment, I would have been pretty unhappy.
