This foldable chair was designed for the Swedish Embassy in Cairo in 1975. It is a variation of the so-called safari chair. It has its own character, as well as some practical features. Its inspiration however is not drawn from the English safari chair and its colonial legacy, but from thousands of years earlier, and the foldable chairs that were recovered from the tomb of Tutankhamun. Chair in teak and fabric fitted to the back with leather straps.
