This is a solid, beautiful piece of furniture. Overall we're really happy with this piece. There are a couple of things that prevent me from giving it a full 5 stars, and also some information to help address what I've seen other people comment about in other reviews. The picture shows that the doors on the front have a wood grain pattern, but also that the wood/veneer finish has a variation in color. That second part isn't true in the piece we got. The wood grain pattern is there, but there's very little variation in the color. While we were slightly disappointed by that, overall it still looks great and we got over that pretty quickly. Every other review I read talked about how the doors were difficult or impossible to adjust and get them to look right. I've put a lot of furniture together, so I thought I'd give it a try anyway. In general I found the instructions to be straightforward. All the pieces and hardware are very well labeled and things go together easily and fit well. When I put the doors on, I couldn't get them to adjust so that they all looked straight, had the right gaps, etc. After messing with it a while I contacted All Modern support who directed me to the manufacturer's customer service contact. They were incredibly helpful and worked with me over a few email back and forths. As it turned out, I had done something wrong in the assembly. One of the pictures I'm attaching here is from the supplemental instructions that the manufacturer emailed me, because I think it does a better job of explaining how to put the doors on. The key is that there are two different kinds of hinges - one set that's straight and one set that's angled/offset. The straight hinges go on both of the outside doors and the angled ones go on the inside doors. Once I had the right hinges in the right place, adjusting them was very easy and everything looked _so_ much better. Also important is adjusting the center support leg, since it exerts some upward pressure and keeps the center of the piece level, which affects the center door gap. Hope this helps someone who gets this in the future. It's a great piece - we've already had a number of compliments on it.. Evan. Massachusetts. 2022-08-03 00:11:51
