grand daughter's first birthday
Debra from FALLBROOK, CA– Verified Buyer
I was excited to find this sturdy little wooden 'first' piano for my grand daughter's first birthday, and was very pleased about the precision German chime tuning! I didn't want to send her just something to plunk on, didn't want her ear being trained on sour notes. She absolutely loves it, and watching her play it, you can just tell she's eager for finer gross motor skills so she can have more control of the sounds she's making. I really like that it doesn't tip over on her when she pulls herself up using it to stand, and she also likes to use the top for extra percussive sounds, something this solid little piano can take. I can't wait until next month when I visit and can play it with her!

I bought this piano for my grandson's first birthday. He is always wanting to sit up at our full size piano and play so this was a perfect gift. The finish is beautiful and the sound is very nice. My daughter who has played for 10 years was impressed with the quality of the sound for such a small piano. The only negative was the strong lacquer smell when we first unpacked it. We took it out of the box it was packed in and let it sit for a couple of weeks and the smell improved.
So Much Fun

First, I like the bold red color. It's a good true red. Second, the piano is cute and functional. I like that it has a full octave, and comes with a song book. I'm not a piano player so the song book is helpful for me, and my one-year-old loves "playing" piano and listening to the little tunes we plunk for her- until she's old enough to play herself- and I feel this piano will last a good five years or more of play. Hopefully it will last longer.

This is a cute little play piano. It is just the size, color and quality we were expecting. Great quality and it's holding up well. We are not disappointed at all.
Great mini piano

The piano showed up real quick and in great condition. The mini piano was bigger than I expected it to be, but is a fun little instrument.

Time honored favorite.

This was a gift to our grandson on his 2nd Christmas. Its an often used, accessible toy that has been well used and held up for going on 3 years. I'm sure it will turn into an heirloom.

Studies show that children who are introduced to music at an early age benefit in many ways and perform better academically. Piano playing develops creativity, enhances motor skills, and promotes social interaction and self-esteem. Schoenhut's patented Learning System, with its play-by-color teaching method, was developed to encourage basic music skills and make playing simple and fun. A removable color strip fits behind the keys to guide small fingers from chord to chord. The chart adapts perfectly to full-sized pianos because keys on Schoenhut toy pianos are of corresponding width, thus teaching children proper "finger stretch" from the very beginning and making the transition to a large piano easy. Each toy piano has one to three octaves, depending on the model, compared with seven and a half on an adult piano. The Learning System Songbook contains a collection of familiar tunes.
Demonstrating their durability, longevity, and collectability, Schoenhut vintage toy pianos are featured at a number of prestigious museums and galleries. One such exhibit at Strong Museum in Rochester, NY provides an overview of the company's rich and interesting heritage. For the finest quality toy pianos, complete customer satisfaction, and knowing your investment may become a treasured heirloom, go with the name you can trust: Schoenhut.
