Sauder Soft Modern Console Table
Great piece...but still working out a problem...
Anthony from Brooklyn, NY– Verified Buyer
This is a great-looking piece. The color of the walnut is warm (in feeling, not color temperature), the texture and grain is subtle and natural-looking. For some reason (the slight sheen in the photo, I think), I expected the drawer faces to be power-coated metal. They are, in fact, laminate, just like the rest of the piece. The quality of the packaging and of the unassembled piece is very good—especially, for the price. The overall package is VERY heavy. The instructions are detailed and clear, but very long, and it takes a lot of concentration—and time—to put the piece together. The quality of the piece, once assembled was very good—though my particular piece had a little problem with the lower-left drawer. It wouldn't glide in and out as easily as the others. In fact, it would get stuck and grind along the open/close path. After trying and trying to fix things on my own, I called Sauder customer service. The customer service rep was very friendly, and had a positive attitude. She even had a few potential solutions documented, which I tried while she was on the phone. They didn't work, and so she sent me out a couple of new drawer tracks (which I haven't yet had the time to try yet) that I received pretty quickly. Overall, I love the look of this piece—we're using it as a foyer console table, and love the drawers to store gloves, scarves, miscellaneous stuff that you might want, or need to leave behind, on the way out—and would definitely have paid a few hundred dollars more for it to come more partially assembled. And SEVERAL hundred more for it to come fully assembled with white glove delivery service.
