OK basically but not quite satisfactory The "shattered" fire glass supplied is less than desireable. Preferring the 'gravel' type fire glass, I would not recommend this item unless the buyer could have the option of other types. |

Works great once you have the right tank This unit is great for taking off the chill at night around our deck table. Very attractive and goes great with our decor. Had trouble getting it to work at first, but found out that the male probe on the unit that screws into the 1 lb. tank was too wide at the base (nut)to accept any tank, but the Coleman 1 lb. tank, which has a wider tank opening than the others allowing the unit's probe to penetrate deep enough to release the propane into the unit. |

Cool product, but had one problem. In the end I really like this product. The flame height is nice as well as the ability to adjust it. I did have a few issues. The main one was connecting the tank to the regulator. The threads on the regulator must be slightly different than the tank. I have any number of devices that use disposable tanks. I know you need to be very careful to properly thread the tank on. With this it was a bit ridiculous. I could get the tank started (first 1/8th inch) but then it would stop. I checked the threads on my tank and used 3 different tanks. It was not the tank. I was able with a lot of muscle and a pliers to hold the regulator still to get the tank on. If I take the tank off I have the same problem putting it back on. Not fun. Fortunately I will be using an extension hose so I just attach that once and remove the tank from the hose. I do not know if this is a poorly made regulator or just a problem with mine. Also could have used more glass pieces. I ended up buying more. |
