North States Diamond Mesh Gate

This gate would be great for a baby or small dog, however, for our golden retriever puppy, we need a taller one.

The product is used to put on the door frame between the basement stairs and the hallway so our kitty is not locked out from the gathering and the children are not in danger of falling down the stairs.........

I bought 2 of these gates because I'm moving to a new townhouse which has 2 flights of stairs and my 15 year old dog is blind. When we toured the place the first time, he fell down the first flight of stairs so I knew I needed to get some baby gates before we moved in. These gates don't require mounting hardware, they have a notched row and you slide the little metal half ring into the notch to lock it to the size you need. I had thought doorways would be fairly standard in sizes but none of the notches work for my doorways. They're either too far apart or not enough. There isn't a notch that fits so that the gate is taut. It's a good thing my dog is small because any pressure on the gate would cause it to fall out of place - and down the stairs. I would never use this for a child.

I use this product to keep my 17 month old grandson out of places he does not need to be.

Quick and easy to use. I just pop it in the doorway whenever I need to limit access then remove it when the need no longer exists. There is no hardware to mar doorways and the gate stores easily when not in use. To really speed things up I've marked the exact "notch" that the bar needs to fit into in order to make a quick installation each time. Even my 10 year old is a pro at this!

This is a surprisingly attractive, lightweight, strong and safe gate for the money. Once you understand the latch it's quick and easy to set up and take down. Kidproof, though not as hot for pets. Our rabbit chewed a bunny-sized hole in it in a matter of days :-).

Makes stairways safe again

Because it's not spring loaded pressure mount, it doesn't fit really tightly in the doorway. My dogs don't push on it, so it serves the purpose. But if they ever figure out that it's not very secure, they can knock it over whenever they want.
