The Newport Collection:

The Newport collection is crafted from Tropical solids and veneers. It features a smooth euroglide drawer system, and ships with both wood and chrome hardware. Frames are constructed from solid wood and corner blocked to ensure rigidity.

Their beds are constructed of 100% kiln dried hardwood. This ensures strength and longevity. The tropical hardwoods used in the beds are indigenous to Indonesia. Tropical mahogany has a tight grain and is similar to American Cherry, varying in reds and browns in its natural state and is used in the majority of their products. White Glove Gold Additional Information:

This item will be delivered by a white glove freight carrier. White glove carriers are different from common carriers in that they provide the customer with many benefits throughout the delivery process. Unlike common carriers, a white glove delivery team consists of at least two people so you will not be burdened with helping the driver carry your order from the back of the truck to your home.

Important note: Once your order arrives in your area, a representative from the white glove carrier will call you to arrange a 4 hour window for delivery. You MUST inspect your package at the time of delivery. If the product has any damage, or if there is any reason for you to be at all concerned about damage, please write "PRODUCT DAMAGED" clearly on the sheet that they ask you to sign. This simply insures that if there is any damage, it will be easy to take care of the problem.

White Glove Freight Service Levels

We offer 2 different levels of service for this item: White Glove Gold and White Glove Platinum. White Glove Gold service is selected as your default shipping method; if you wish to upgrade to White Glove Platinum you may make this selection in your cart during the checkout process. Please read the service descriptions below to determine which level is best for your needs.

White Glove Gold
Gold service level provides two-man delivery to inside your residence to the room you choose. This service includes carrying the product up two flights of stairs from the building threshold (4-15 steps = 1 flight). If you need the product moved up additional flights please contact us*. Once the product is in the room you desire, the shipper will unpack the product and provide basic setup that requires no tools (i.e. will set pieces next to each other, or on top of each other). The shipper will also remove and dispose of all packaging.

White Glove Platinum
Platinum service level provides two-man delivery to inside your residence to the room you choose. This service includes carrying the product up two flights of stairs from the building threshold (4-15 steps = 1 flight). If you need the product moved up additional flights please contact us*. Once the product is in the room you desire, the shipper will unpack the product and provide light setup that requires basic tools (i.e. pieces will be screwed or bolted together, set pieces next to each other, or on top of each other). The shipper will also remove and dispose of all packaging.

*In all cases the shipper will not hookup any electrical or component wires. Having items carried up more than 25 steps and longer assembly periods are available as additional services which would require additional charges. Please contact us if you feel you need these services.

Comments about Modus Furniture International Newport Six Drawer Dresser in Cordovan:

From the other testimonials, I expected to recruit help to assemble the dresser and bed, missing assembly tools and an overall weak construction.

None of this was true. The delivery guys assembled the bed for me. They left the extra screens with me. Wooden slats were screwed down into the bed frame along with a center "leg" for additional support.

The dresser came with two sets of drawer pulls, one wooden set that matched the dresser and one silver/brushed nickel "looking" set.

The bed and dresser are beautiful together. This was the best price I could find on the pair, and delivery and setup went smoothly.

Service and delivery comments:

The delivery guys were two hours late, but they made up for their tardiness by completely assembling the bed and dresser and arranging the furniture.
