Product designer Bruno Christesen obtained international acceptance for his legendary nutcracker, his first product for Menu.

The Nutcracker by Bruno Christesen makes cracking even the hardest nut fun and easy. Its unique design makes it equally easy to use, just place the nut on the metal plate and cover it with the rubber dome. Give the dome a light tap and the nut will be ready to eat, with the shell cleanly removed and ready to be thrown in the bin. Its solid stainless steel base, domed top in black rubber and non-slip rubber bottom to protect against scratched table tops, all bear witness to attention-to-detail for appearance, quality and practicality. But the real genius of this nutcracker is the ribbed metal fitting on the underside of the dome that ensures that only a light tap is needed to split a shell.

In 1979, Simon Hansen establisheed the family-owned company Danish Steel House, which supplied steel products to the catering industry. Nine years later, Bjarne Hansen developd the company’s famous Irish coffee set. In a single stroke, the innovative design become an impressive, international sales success and today Menu is known for it's innovative and stylish modern accessories.

The innovative design which in a single stroke, become an impressive, international sales success. In 1998, Danish Steel House become known as Menu. The designer Pernille Vea was then employed, and the development of unique, top-selling design products took off. In 2004, the parent company Scandinavian Living was established. This served as an umbrella for the individual trade marks Menu, Menu Pro, QDO and Unique.

In the last few years, the Hansen family has sold a share in the company to ISO founder Peter Midtgaard. Menu has been a permanent design team which now consists of Pernille Vea, Jakob Wagner and Christian Bjørn.
