About the Designer
Salih Teskeredzic Salih Teskeredzic obtained his BA in 1987, from the Architectural Faculty in Sarajevo. He then received his MA in Product Design, from the Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo in 2003. Salih has taught Industrial Design since 2004, and since 2006 he has been the Head of th eProduct Design Department at the Academy of Fine Arts at the University of Sarajevo. He has also been a visiting lecturer at the Polytechnic faculty in Bihac as well as part of the Civil Engineering Faculty in Sarajevo. In 2000, Salih founded his first design and architecture studio in Vienna, and in 2007, he founded AD ARTE studio in Sarajevo. The main studios provide services in product design, interior design and architecture. His designs have been produced in several European countries: Austria, Denmark, Italy and Germany, as well as Bosnia and Herzegovina. He exhibited at several fairs including Milan, Cologne, Paris, Copenhagen, Vienna, Ulm, Zagreb, Belgrade, Sarajevo. Salih's designs won 7 Interior Innovation Awards, considered one of the most prestigious awards in the furnishing sector world-wide. Among the Interior Innovation Award winners for Salih is the Manulution's Daisy Dining Table (Interior Innovation Award 2011).
The inspiration for this product was found in nature and turned into an abstract form through design. Memory, the central topic of this work, through design defines the product’s origin and its unique identity in the transformation of old into new and traditional into modern. Daisy is an attempt in re-birth of handcrafts and an awakening of interest in modern, hand-made products. Daisy Table was awarded the Interior Innovation Award 2011 by the German Design Council. This award is considered to be one of the most prestegious design awards in furnishings industry worldwide. Daisy Table is a part of the Daisy Collection, which also includes: Daisy Chair, Daisy Coffee Table, Daisy Bar Table, Daisy Bar Stool.
