Watch for safety issue... Our cats love this tree, and it is worth every penny (even for shipping across the border). However I want to alert other shoppers to a safety issue - one of my cats got her lower tooth/jaw into the small sisal loop on the reverse side of the top perch (it is there for a hanging toy that was destroyed by rough play). She was caught in it pretty firmly and she was just starting to panic when I got to her. All I could do was lift her up so that there would not be her body weight on the snare. It took her a few moments but she did break free - momentarily freaked out but fortunately no harm. I have cut the loop off to make sure it doesn't happen again; if I hadn't been home her choices would have been to clutch at the sisal post or hang from her bottom jaw. Please other owners inspect your cat trees for small loops that do not have give when under stress. I think it would be better if these loops were made out of elastic or not installed at all... enjoy your tree safely! |

Sturdy & My Cats ~L~O~V~E~ it!!!! My two kittens love their new "toy"! I had a little bit of a hard time putting it together, because it did not come with any instructions inside the shipping box, which was surprising. My advice to anyone putting one together is that it is not very hard, but you should lay all the parts on the floor like how you think it should be when it is standing up, and then start assembly from the top of the structure working your way down to the base. I approached the job the opposite way by starting assembly from the base and working my way up, only to find that it wasn't going to work out easily that way at all, and I had to start over from scratch. A minus for the product is that the undersides of the platforms are not covered in sherpa (I got the sherpa one), but is left bare, which is an eye sore to the human if you are looking up from underneath. Also, there are a few bare walls left inside the cubby, which could have used some material to cover those surfaces up. Other than that issue, the tree is great. |
