Stig Leander's idea for the Leander cradle came about from a real need in real life. A member of the family had had twins and it was difficult to take care of both children simultaneously. But with a cradle suspended from one point, it was easy to rock the one child and hold the other at the same time. Thus, a unique design company was literally born and after the cradle, a number of unique pieces of furniture followed – all designed with the same philosophy of focusing on the child. On the whole, the real world is the basis for Stig Leander's work. By observing the life of children, he designs furniture that speaks and gives room for experience and development. With an education in craftsmanship and a portion of practical sense, Stig Leander has gained an understanding of the material's qualities and possibilities. That the products are manufactured in a high quality and with respect for good craftsmanship is a matter of course for him. The design work does not happen on a computer, but rather with human hands in the workshop where cardboard and string is used to create the organic shapes that are unique to Leander children's furniture. The Leander collection combines a simple, functional and esthetic design, while transitioning in functionality parallel with the growth of your child. The collection is made of moulded European beech and is surface treated with a water based lacquer. The mattresses have interior pocket springs for improved comfort and ventilation. Leander combines natural and eco-friendly components to provide a safe environment for your child's primary comfort zones.

Leander Junior Panel Bedroom Collection
“Product development is a process that requires a precise analysis of our everyday life – our wishes and movements. If we can do things better then we have come far - right from the choice of raw materials, through the workmanship to the finished design. When we create our furniture we think at the level of a child and we experience the world through the little person’s needs for security and development,” emphasises Stig Leander, the designer behind the furniture.
The Leander furniture is manufactured in, among other things, European beech, moulded in a classic Scandinavian design that combines function with simple, clear aesthetics. The principle is that the beautiful appearance must always be accompanied by great applicability. And that good design gives pleasure and quality of life.
