Kittypod Couchette Modern Recycled Paper Cat Perch

I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 because I'd like for the vanity plates to have been included in the price rather than being a separate $120. I love it because of the design and size. It allows my kitty to have a comfy window seat while mommy gets an attractive piece of furniture.

I never know when I purchase something if either of my cats will even give it a nod of acknowledgement. I just redecorated my dining room and wanted to discourage contact with the new drapes as much as possible. Not that they destroyed the old ones, but they like sitting in the window, walking up and down the window sill, going behind the drapes etc. I didn't want something ugly in the new dining room, so I took a chance and invested in the couchette which looked cute, and hoped it would serve dual purposes of a lounger and scratcher and crossed my fingers that they would spend more time on it than on the window sill. It has been at least 10 months now and I can happily report that both cats like to lay on it (not together, but it is big enough for two), they use it as a scratcher, it still looks like new, it gets compliments, and my curtains still look like new. This is a well made product and all three of us are happy with the purchase. Now, if I could only say the same about some others...

yes, it's expensive, but i've had one of these for 6 years, the cats love it and use it daily, and it still looks great. additionally, this was an excellent price on this piece. about the only thing i'd change is, i'd love to have a set of the 'vanity plates' [they protect the look of the front and back] and the plates aren't carried here, nor are they available at a reasonable price elsewhere. this scratcher is so handsome it can pass for gehry-esque human furniture.
