The Design:

• Designer Jack Kelley uses his knowledge of computers as a driving force behind many of his furniture designs. Computers have captivated him since 1969, when he worked at the Stanford Research Institute with Douglas Engelbart, inventor of the computer mouse. The mouse needed a pad, so Kelley designed it – the world’s first mouse pad.
  
  
• So it was only natural that in 1986 he designed the Scooter, a laptop support or keyboard and mouse stand for hardworking computer users.
