Game changer in the kitchen

Carly from Monterey, CA– Verified Buyer

My 17-month old has no trouble getting up and down. She loves being a part of what I'm doing in the kitchen (even if she's just playing in the sink while I cook dinner). It's light enough that she can push it across the linoleum but it doesn't scoot or slip when she's up on it.

We are thinking of buying a shelf liner to put on the surface she stands on, as it becomes extremely slippery when wet. I will probably only fold this up for storage a few times a year since stepping around it is easier than breaking out the allen wrench (which we taped to the bottom of the stool for easy access…but still). Dry erase board and chalkboard are low quality and basically worthless. Shape cut outs are tempting to climb - we have a strict "feet on the floor" rule that she's pretty good about, but a sneakier climber will be on the counter in no time.

Definitely not an heirloom product, but I think it will last as long as I need it to.

Easy Setup

lotusmonkey from Tampa, FL– Verified Buyer

Sets up easily right out of the box. I do recommend you also attain some felt sliders and install them at the bottom of the legs so your child can position the location he/she wants without scratching the floors. Not as study as I imagined it would be but, it does the job and my child loves to use it!

Daughter LOVES it!

Shauna from Jacksonville, FL– Verified Buyer

This is my daughters favorite thing in the house! She loves being able to get up at the counter and help in the kitchen. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it's a bit difficult for her to get in and out of. Also I wish the part she stands on was nonslip, but that's an easy fix with a trip to Lowes. Warning: your child will want to help EVERYTIME you're in the kitchen...

Kids Love it!

Kathryn from San Bruno, CA– Verified Buyer

My kids love this. My only complaint would be the cut out out shapes. My kids climb on then which is not safe. But it is one of the best purchase I ever made for my kids. Now they can help in the kitchen in a safe place.

Love this step stool!

Rita from Colorado Springs, CO– Verified Buyer

Our 21 month old granddaughter loves this helper stool. She has fallen off of chairs before as she stands at the counter, so this protects her and lets her have fun at the same time. I have already recommended this product.

Perfect for my grandchildren!

Lucy from Brown Deer, WI– Verified Buyer

I ordered this so my grandchildren could safely help me in the kitchen. They love using it, and so do I. I like that this product, unlike others, is foldable so I can tuck it away in a corner when they are not using it. It takes less than a minute to unscrew the one screw and fold it away.

We love this!

Stacy from Newton, MA– Verified Buyer

My daughter is two and really wants to help in the kitchen but I couldn't handle her pulling over chairs and stepstools. It made me so nervous! She loves standing in this and I feel so much better about her safety. Worth every penny!

Excellent design and construction

Bradley from Mountain View, CA– Verified Buyer

The way this piece folds up and out of the way is brilliant. Our son loves using it to help us cook -- much more exciting than a play kitchen! It comes mostly assembled, so only the feet need to be put on.

The screw that holds the platform down is optional the platform isn't going anywhere unless you're trying to fold it up.

GreAt idea.

Joanna from Indialantic, FL– Verified Buyer

This is an amazing step stool. Let's the kids be involved and participate-all at counter level. Leaves you hands free to prepare meals. Ingenious.

This helps keep toddler busy watching me

Sara the experimental chef from Lincoln, NE– Verified Buyer

I purchased this to be able to have my toddler watch me prepare dinner and so he wouldn't be upset when he couldn't be a part of it.

He now climbs into and out of it but I am able to get more done in less time. I tend to prepare overly-complicated meals on a regular basis and it was becoming less and less fun to do so. This has helped and he has also started helping me make cookies and such...i.e. eating the dough while I bake cookies;)

I have even put his crayons and paper on island and he can stand there and doodle while I work. He is too small to sit on a counter barstool and he gets too impatient in his high chair. This works great.

The only drawback is that to collapse it and store you must use an allen wrench (provided) to remove a bolt to flip up the board the child stands on to fold up. It is too much of a hassle so I just pick it up and move to my pantry and pull it out 5-7 times a week. It is quite large and so leaving it out when not in use is a pain. I place it to the far end of my workstation/island while in use.

Must also mention that I believed that there was one open side and that I could place that side against counter to prevent my son from climbing in/out. There are two open sides so I had to be careful when we first received this. After a few months, when he was 20 months old, he crawled in and out on his own with zero problems and it works even better this way than having me "free' him if he gets bored.

I believe this will get much use over the next few years. Thank you for supplying this as I had a hard time finding it until I came across your site.
