Industrial designer Ton Haas is a global citizen. He has his domicile in Havana, but travels around the world for various clients with products and projects. The design area it covers is large. Office chairs for businesses to vases and drinking glasses for the consumer. His love for other cultures is partly reflected in a partnership with Fair Trade, which he by African craftsmen developed a range of accessories. Wobble wobble the vase, which he has received the ID Award, was designed by a number of years ago.In terms of elegance, simplicity and a sense of playfulness, the Wobbling Vases were chosen by the jurors of the ID Award for hitting just the right note. Once filled with water and a spray of flowers, the vases do indeed wobble until they reach their natural centre of balance or remain at asymmetrical tilt. Citing a sense of humor in the designer's decision to introduce the unexpected-a base that is not a base and does not provide stability- jurors found the leap refreshing. And either individually or as a group the shapes are successful.
