Dont buy this fire hazard from Calgary on 03/06/2013
We installed this kit in April 2012. The switch was broken but we were able to tape the switch housing with electrical tape and install it. The distributor was great about sending a replacement transformer. Because it was EXTREMELY difficult to install the transformer (the housing is barely able to contain the transformer and the wires), we left the unit up. The unit stopped working after about 2 months and the wires were melted inside the housing that holds the transformer even though the unit is rated for 300 volts and we only had 8x35 volt lights on it (total 280 volts) AND it was installed correctly. We installed the replacement we had received earlier (again, very difficult) and a month ago the unit stopped functioning. Again, the wires inside were melted. So, the first unit lasted 2 months, the second unit lasted 8 months. We definitely won't be installing another transformer from this company, because it seems to me it's a fire hazard if the wires keep melting. We bought it because it was cheaper than other track lights we looked at - I guess you get what you pay for.

Almost perfect from Bronx, NY on 08/16/2014 – Verified Buyer
The pluses: good looking, interesting design. Powerful flexible lighting. Modern statement. The cons: the lights are halogen, therefore a bit hot. Replacing the shades is tricky as the new shades are a slightly different color white.

I like it. from New York, NY on 11/01/2010
I really like the product, looks good, lighting is good for my purposes. The only problem I have is that the manufacturer recommended a low voltage dimmer which resulted in a humming noise. I am working around with other options.

Read Some of the Tips Others Give from Stuart, FL on 02/18/2013 – Verified Buyer
I am so very pleased with this purchase. The lights are absolutely gorgeous and give plenty of light. I was very happy to have read some of the other statements from purchasers on how to hang them. It will save you a lot of trouble but well worth it in the end as they are very elegant and modern but fit perfectly into my 1926 house as an eclectic update to its antique charm.

Looks amazing! from Minneapolis, MN on 07/28/2008 – Verified Buyer
We were remodeling our kitchen and were trying to add new light into the area that used to be our kitchen eating area. The hole in the ceiling from the previous light was off-center from the rest of the lights because it was centered over our table. We chose this lighting system because it allowed us to utilize that same hole, while giving us amazing light for the whole space...and we are very happy that we did. It looks AMAZING! We absolutely love it! My husband, the skeptic, is even sold on it now too! It is wonderful! It defintitely was a challenge to install trying to get it to hold it's shape going up, but we finally came up with a good system. We decided to lay it out on the floor just beneath the area where we wanted to hang it. Then we used push pins with a weighted string to pinpoint the exact places to install the braces. If we had to do it all over again, we would have started with just the two end points and once it was up on the ceiling with those, then we would have installed the others in between. We have heard that the lights will eventually turn the lamp shades pink so we plan to upgrade to a colored shade eventually.
