About the Designer
Bertil Vallien Sweden (1938 - )
Bertil Vallien was born in 1938 north of Stockholm. He trained in ceramics at the Technical School of Arts and has a master’s degree in industrial design. After he completed his studies, Bertil Vallien worked for some years in Los Angeles where his art attracted much attention. Bertil Vallien is a master of dimension. He worked as a glass designer for Kosta Boda from 1963 but was noted for several other genres. Examples of Bertil Vallien’s work can be seen at all of the large Swedish art museums.
Figura is a modern design, yet it has a touch of Dalí about it. The shape is pleasant; the balance and functionality perfect. As a result, this set of cutlery is a joy to use.
