Gamma Delta Group

The passion for design in the lighting industry is deeply rooted in a historical family tradition born in the 40s and handed down up to the latest generation. it started off with elisabetta mescalchin who opened a small shop of electric material in padua. Throughout the 60s and 70s, the third generation of the family represented by Paolo Mescalchin founded a little company of lighting and furnishing accessories, which has grown through the years, succeeding within the national market and later on within the international market. The fourth generation represented by Cristiana, Paolo’s daughter, marked the company’s history on September 9th, 2014 giving birth to a new brand: Lalu – the essence of light – a commercial reality tailored to the contemporary customer’s needs. The company avails itself of a staff of experienced professionals and is always looking for new designers to grow together. Lalu’s mission is closely related to its name… In the kabbalistic tradition, one of the seventy-two guardian angels of light is veuliah who enhances his protected ones, born between October 25th and 28th, the necessary strength of spirit to achieve their own ambitions and, at the same time, he grants an unusual adaptability to adverse circumstances. He is also Cristiana’s and her firstborn’s protector, and this is the reason why she created the new brand: Lalu. The imaginary term recalls the light, the moon, a fantasy world, but also the infants babbling, the first uttered glance on the world. A simple name, almost primitive that reminds of the origin of the word light, which dates back to the sumerian root luh: “to purify”. The light contains different meanings, not only candor and purification but the light also announces the day after the night, so what is visible and evident. Source of knowledge and spiritual activity, the light can only be beautiful, its natural beauty transmits wellness and energy. the value of design, as a deep sense of the project, goes along with the idea of light. In Latin ‘to design’ means to do something, to distinguish with a sign, to design something in relation to other things. Designing is respecting things, disclosing them, but also distinguishing through them and within them. Looking back to the tradition of the great masters, Lalu pursues the originality, embracing the unique beauty you can find within the common standards, though in an original way. The company wills to design the new but, at the same time, does not forget about its past, the tradition and its homeland, Veneto, land rich of traditions such as the venetian tradition of glass blowing and the manufacturing of many other fine materials. Lalu also provides its expertise for custom projects.
