Christian Flensted Flensted Mobiles are a traditional handicraft in Denmark. The first modern designer mobile was made there in 1954. It was then that Christian and Grethe Flensted designed the Stork mobile to celebrate the baptism of their daughter. Demand for the Stork mobile surpassed all expectations, and it still ships worldwide over 50 years later. Today Flensted Mobiles is based on the Danish island of Funen, the birthplace of Hans Christian Anderson, where it creates its very own design fairy tales from the old village school in Brenderup. Based on his creations, Christian was dubbed the "Uromager", which roughly translated means, "maker of things mischievous and always on the move". Today, their son Ole and his wife Aase continue the tradition.

Love it! I have been coveting this mobile for quite some time and finally treated myself over the holidays. I have yet to hang it , but I know when I do , I will enjoy it tremendously. It is my favorite Flensted mobile design and the yellow color pops! |
