Arnout Visser finds his main inspiration in the world of logic. He reminds us of 'how things work' by designing objects that are based in science ù in physical or mechanical laws. The usage of glass ù Arnout's favourite material ù gives a clear insight in the working of, for example, liquids, but Arnout also works with other materials such as ceramics, plastics and metals. Designs by Arnout Visser can be found in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art in New York, Design Museum London, Kunsthal Rotterdam and Groninger Museum, amongst others.

Droog Optic Glass
These look MUCH better in the pictures

I am not a fan of these very small glasses by Droog. The optical effect in the picture can only be seen (barely) when the glass is full of a very transparent liquid. This is actually the second set I bought--why, if I don't like them? Because one in the first set developed a hairline crack within a few months of light use. They were cheap ($10/ea), so I figured I would round the set up, rather than have an odd, three-glass set (and, given that another of these poorly-made glasses will likely crack again in the future, I will likely soon have a nice, even 6). If they were any more expensive though, i likely would have just written off the first set and tossed them.
